The Fort Worth Jazz Orchestra, run by drummer Adonis Rose, was voted the top Fort Worth jazz group of 2007 by the Fort Worth Weekly. I am the pianist and composer for this group. More at www.thefwjo.com.

Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies

Dan has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies and Assistant Director of the Jazz Studies Program at the University of Texas at Arlington beginning this coming fall! Look for gigs upcoming in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, including a revamped reincarnation of the Dan Cavanagh Ensemble.
Dan awarded 4th New York Youth Symphony First Music Jazz Band Commission

Dan is the recipient of the 2005 New York Youth Symphony First Music Jazz Band Classic commission. He will be writing a piece for the NY Youth Symphony Jazz Band to be premiered at Carnegie Hall in Spring 2006!
