    The Dan Cavanagh Ensemble

The Dan Cavanagh Ensemble is a jazz and creative music ensemble dedicated to performing creative, contemporary music that involves organic writing, relevant improvisation, and tight ensemble playing. Led by Dan Cavanagh, much of their repertoire is written and arranged by him; other writers presented include James Miley, Joe Freuen, et al. Made up of some of the Dallas/Fort Worth area's most innovative improvising musicians and solid section players, the ensemble is working on their debut recording, Amoeba. Look for a release in summer 2008.

    Seven Minus

Seven Minus was formed in the fall of 2003 by several players in Eugene, OR with similar interests. Featuring tight, original, daring writing and a sense of carefree yet focused soloing, the group has performed to high acclaim throughout the West. Seven Minus features John Adler, trumpet; Joe Manis, saxophone; Matt Moresi, trombone; Dan Cavanagh, piano; Josh Britton, bass; and Jason Palmer, drums.

Seven Minus recently finished recording their debut album, You Shall Know Our Velocity, and it is scheduled to be released soon. See more info, sound clips, and album artwork on the recordings page.
