Chart Detail - Foundations (for Dan Burkholder)

Price - $50.00

Foundations was written in honor of Dan Burkholder, the first jazz band director at the University of Texas at Arlington. This ballad is a flugelhorn feature throughout. Starting with a lush introduction with full ensemble, the solo flugel takes the first statement of the melody. The saxes take over on the bridge, paving the way for the flugel to round out the last A section. An interlude precedes the solo section which temporarily develops into a double-time swing feel on the bridge. The energy quickly dissipates, ending with lush chords reminiscent of the introduction. Perfect for your talented trumpet player! Lead Trumpet: E above the staff (with alternate lower notes.)
